WHY 74% of Americans cannot afford to eat Healthy???
Editor’s note: The original title of this article “92% of Americans Can’t Afford Groceries: Poll” was changed to what you see above because it is not clear that the poll actually showed that finding. The actual title of the poll conducted by Lean and Fresh was “Survey: Over 92% of Americans Can’t Afford Groceries and 50% Report a Decline in Health”. Again, the title does not seem to reflect the actual results of the poll. Regardless, the problem is severe and the recommendations given in this article are excellent. A recent survey pointed out what we’ve been saying all along – groceries prices are hard to handle, and quality food has become a luxury that few can afford. The survey was sponsored by Lean and Fresh, a food delivery service, which sought a case study on how inflation was affecting American diets.
The survey respondents weren’t the people you might expect to be having trouble being able to afford groceries. It is not just poor, non-working people with a dozen children who are struggling.
Instead, 65% of the people who responded to the survey earned more than $75,000 per year. More than half of the respondents were from the biggest locations/economies in the country = California, Illinois, New York, Florida, Texas, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Georgia. The majority of those polled were either working or self-employed people, and nearly half of them had no children.
Here’s what the survey found.
The results of food affordability were alarming.
- 87% said grocery prices are too high
- 65.93% take fewer trips to the store due to inflation
- 82% dining out less for the same reason (so it’s not a swap of spending, money itself is the problem)
- 50-55% of people shop less, buy less stuff, and spend more time at home
- 57% have to stop buying organic or premium ingredients
- 74.60% would eat healthier if they could afford it
- 57.5% are buying less meat and poultry
Given those statistics, it’s probably no surprise that around 50% of those responding feel unhealthier now than they did a year ago. When good food is not available, your health suffers.

This is due to the huge concentration of agricultural property and the industrialization and chemicalization of American agriculture. During the 20th and 21st centuries, as a result of the global decline in prices of agricultural products resulting from climate warming and the improvement of food production conditions, there was a huge concentration of agricultural property and erise huge mechanized farms, that were created in the place of small farms. At the same time, giant companies were established to supply these huge farms with means of agricultural production. This has made American agriculture dependent on the cost of now expensive energy to power agricultural machinery and the prices of natural gas-derived fertilizers.
The US lost the competitive battle with Russia over the cost of production of products obtained from the extraction and processing of crude oil and natural gas. Russia, thanks to the richer deposits found on its vast territory and lower prices for the production of gas and oil products, has dominated the world market of petroleum products. This results in 40-50% lower energy costs for Russian agriculture, whose products, thanks to 40-50% lower prices than American agricultural products, dominated the global food market. All this causes restrictions on the disposal of American agricultural and industrial export production, causing a crisis in the American economy and agriculture. Food prices are rising in the US market, especially the prices of so-called healthy food produced mainly by small farms, which are currently few in the US.
American agriculture needs a strategic maneuver to increase the number of small farms, which may follow the division of the farms of the giants into small farms producing healthy food mainly plant-based. An influx of cheap labor into American agriculture is needed to populate these small farms and reduce dependence on energy-intensive mechanized agricultural production. I have described this in numerous works available on the Internet.
This will reduce the cost of US agriculture and heal the market relationship, causing an increase in demand in the economy because each dollar of agricultural demand generates 2.71 of income in the US economy.
All this requires knowledge from American politicians in order to change the attitude of imperial policy constrained by Russia and China to one that will increase the internal strength of the American economy. This will strengthen the position of the US in the world thanks to successful reforms.

Wynika to z ogromnej koncentracji własności rolnej i uprzemysłowienia i schemizowania rolnictwa amerykańskiego. W ciągu XX i XXI wieku w wyniku światowego spadku cen produktów rolnych wynikającego z ocieplenia klimatu i poprawy warunków produkcji żywności doszło do ogromnej koncentracji własności rolnej i powstały w miejsce małych farm ogromne zmechanizowane farmy liczące po kilkanaście i więcej tysięcy hektarów. Jednocześnie doszło do powstania firm gigantów zaopatrujących te ogromne farmy w środki produkcji rolnej. Spowodowało to uzależnienie rolnictwa amerykańskiego od kosztów drogiej teraz energii napędzającej maszyny rolnicze i cen nawozów uzyskiwanych z gazu ziemnego.
USA przegrały z Rosją walkę konkurencyjną w o koszty produkcji wyrobów otrzymywanych z wydobycia i przerobu ropy naftowej i gazu ziemnego. Rosja dzięki odnalezionym na jej ogromnym terytorium bogatszym złożom i niższym cenom produkcji przetworów z gazu i ropy zdominowała światowy rynek produktów naftowych. Powoduje to niższe o 40-50% koszy energii dla rosyjskiego rolnictwa, którego produkty dzięki o 40-50 % niższym cenom od amerykańskich produktów rolnych zdominowały globalny rynek żywności. Wszystko to powoduje ograniczenia w zbycie amerykańskiej produkcji eksportowej rolnictwa i przemysłu powodując kryzys w amerykańskiej gospodarce i rolnictwie. Na rynku amerykańskim rosną ceny żywności a w szczególności ceny tzw. zdrowej żywności produkowanej głownie przez małe farmy, których obecnie jest w USA niewiele.
Rolnictwu amerykańskiemu potrzebny jest strategiczny manewr w celu zwiększenia liczby małych farm co może nastąpić po podziale farm gigantów na małe farmy produkujące zdrową żywność głównie roślinną. Potrzebny jest napływ taniej siły roboczej do rolnictwa amerykańskiego w celu zaludnienia tych małych farm i zmniejszenia uzależnienia od energochłonnej zmechanizowanej produkcji rolnej. Zmniejszy to koszty rolnictwa amerykańskiego i uzdrowi relacje na rynku powodując wzrost popytu w gospodarce bo każdy dolar rolniczego popytu wytwarza 2,71 dochodu w amerykańskiej gospodarce.
Wszystko to wymaga wiedzy od polityków amerykańskich w celu zmiany nastawienia polityki imperialnej ograniczanej przez Rosję i Chiny na taką, która spowoduje wzrost wewnętrznej siły gospodarki amerykańskiej. Umocni to dzięki udanym reformom pozycję USA w świecie.
